The Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams to get to the Super Bowl, and after a dominant victory over the New England Patriots, the Seahawks are now two-time Super Bowl champions.
It was a huge win for Seattle, and for many players across the roster, it's a legacy-building win. In the eyes of head coach Mike Macdonald, one player might benefit the most from this win, and it's not Sam Darnold.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Macdonald said that this Super Bowl win should "cement" Cooper Kupp as a Hall of Fame wide receiver.
Mike Macdonald says Seahawks Super Bowl win cements Cooper Kupp as Hall of Famer
"Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald on Cooper Kupp: 'This should cement him in the Hall of Fame, in my opinion.'"
This is a very bold take for Maconald to make. Kupp is a 32-year-old veteran wide receiver who's been in the NFL for nine seasons, and has now won two Super Bowls, one with the Rams and the other with the Seahawks.
His 2021 season was incredible, as he was the Triple-Crown winner with 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns with Offensive Player of the Year, All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and Super Bowl MVP nods.
But, outside of that one incredible season, Kupp hasn't been a Hall of Fame-caliber receiver. He's put up 8,369 career receiving yards, 59 touchdowns, and 681 catches across nine seasons with the Rams and Seahawks.
While the two Super Bowls, Super Bowl MVP, All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and Offensive Player of the Year accolades make for a compelling case, Kupp just hasn't played enough to warrant a Hall of Fame bid.

He would need to play for a while longer and put up more strong seasons than he did in 2025 with Seattle (47 receptions for 593 yards and 3 TDs) before having a good chance to make the Hall of Fame.
Going by Pro Football Reference's Hall of Fame monitor, Kupp is ranked 112th all-time for WRs, behind Ja'Marr Chase, A.J. Brown, Greg Jennings, Amari Cooper, and plenty of other noteworthy WRs in NFL history.
His 37.70 HOFm score is well behind Devin Hester, the current lowest scoring WR to make the Hall of Fame. But Hester has special teams to his advantage. Kupp is well below most other wide receivers who haven't made the Hall of Fame, let alone those who have.
Macdonald's praise of Kupp might be a bit premature, as he's likely still got a long way to go before he makes the Hall of Fame. But Kupp's career is still very impressive and worthy of praise. Just, the Hall of Fame might be too much.
