The Seattle Seahawks are going up against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl and will be stuck with the challenge of trying to beat their tough defense.
Christian Gonzalez going up against Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the game's biggest matchup and could decide the outcome of Super Bowl 60. While it won't be easy, JSN can win.
And according to a prediction from Mike Tannenbaum of ESPN, Smith-Njigba will win this in a big way. Tannenbaum predicts that JSN will finish with a wild statline which has 186 receiving yards, as not the most stunning part.
Seahawks' JSN predicted to win Super Bowl MVP with 186-yard performance
"Smith-Njigba goes well over 100 yards," Tannenbaum predicts. "I'm predicting he'll catch 14 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns to run away with the Super Bowl MVP award. He'll get to leave Santa Clara as the unquestioned best WR in football."
This would be a stunning performance for JSN, as reaching 100 yards will be difficult enough on its own against this tough Patriots defense.
But, for Smith-Njigba to reach not just 100 yards, but get to 186 in the biggest game of the season, and of his life, would be a stunning accomplishment for JSN.
Tannenbaum's prediction is a wild one and is fittingly made alongside other bold predictions from ESPN analysts for the Super Bowl.
More: Why Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Christian Gonzalez is Super Bowl's biggest matchup per ESPN
Smith-Njigba just won NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and is a first-team All-Pro this season as well, thanks to an incredible 1,793-yard, 10 TD season on 119 catches.
This 186-yard performance would be the third-best receiving performance all-time by any player in Super Bowl history. It would also tie Jerry Rice for the most receiving touchdowns in a Super Bowl in NFL history. And for good measure, the 14 receptions would be tied with James White (from the Patriots) for most receptions in a Super Bowl.
Tannenbaum's prediction for Smith-Njigba would have the Seahawks breakout, a 23-year-old wide receiver putting up arguably the best game in Super Bowl history.
It's a wild prediction from Tannenbaum, and while it's not likely whatsoever, JSN can take over a game, and Darnold is a gunslinger and will pepper his top option with targets. It's not impossible, although it's incredibly unlikely.
