The Seattle Seahawks are trying hard to get back to the big game and be one of the new NFL franchises to notch back-to-back championship wins, and so far, they're 3-1, so they're getting there. But they obviously have a challenge up against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers are undefeated going into Week 5, and they're No. 1 in the NFC West. There's no denying that quarterback Brock Purdy is just playing good football, and that's tough to top. But the Seahawks can do it, and one way is by finally sacking Purdy.

In a Friday feature, ESPN released its predictions for the NFL Week 5 schedule of games. In it, they mention a fun fact that Purdy actually has yet to be sacked this season. So, consider it a fun challenge for the Seahawks' defense to be the first to sack him.

Brock Purdy has yet to be sacked this season

"When the Seahawks beat the 49ers in Week 18 and in the divisional round of the playoffs last season, their defense held San Francisco to a combined 409 yards and nine points," Brady Henderson of ESPN notes. "That was then. The 49ers' offense now? Second in the NFL in scoring at 30.5 points per game, and QB Brock Purdy has yet to take a sack."

Ahead of the Seahawks and 49ers game, Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald said of Purdy, "He can throw at all three levels. He throws on time. He throws it into windows with timing that makes it hard to defend."

Listen, so long as nobody gets hurt, sacking the other team's quarterback is a good thing. So, perhaps the Seahawks will be the first team in the 2026-27 season to do so.
