Seahawks get major injury update on starting left tackle for NFC Championship

1 hour ago 1

The Seattle Seahawks are in the NFC Championship game, and one win over the Los Angeles Rams away from playing in the Super Bowl.

Coming into this matchup, there were a few massive injuries to keep track of for the Seahawks. Zach Charbonnet is out with a torn ACL, but the more uncertain player was offensive tackle Charles Cross.

Fortunately, as Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reported, the Seahawks final injury report revealed some incredibly good news for the Seahawks. Cross, the starting left tackle, is off the injury report and will play against the Rams.

Seahawks get great Charles Cross injury news

Cross, the 25-year-old left tackle in his fourth NFL season, has been dealing with a foot issue, and so far this week, he hasn't practiced. But on Friday, he practiced and is good to go.

There was significant concern that the Seahawks and Sam Darnold would be without their top offensive lineman against a very strong Rams defensive line.

What would've made Cross's absence hurt even more is that the backup offensive tackles were also both hurt and missing practice.

Jared Verse and the Rams' pass rush group won't be an easy matchup, and having a healthy offensive line will be huge. The NFC Championship is likely to be a close game, and every advantage could be a big one.

Cross playing for Seattle is massive news. He's one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL, and seeing him good to go for this Rams game is a massive sigh of relief for the Seahawks and their fans.
