This offseason, the Seattle Seahawks will have plenty of difficult decisions to make. While the decisions with Tariq Woolen, Coby Bryant, and the possible extensions for Devon Witherspoon and Jaxon Smith-Njigba might be important, there's another bigger issue.
What Seattle does with Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III will be more interesting and important than any other decision. He's a Seahawks legend after his playoff performances, and now the question is whether they'll bring him back on a long-term extension or not.
Fortunately for Seahawks fans, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Seahawks are fully expected not to let Walker hit the open market. Whether it's an extension or franchise tag, Walker is not likely to go anywhere.
Seahawks expected to bring back Kenneth Walker III
"Has he earned a Josh Jacobs- or James Cook- type deal worth $12 million per year?" Jones writes. "Or does GM John Schneider opt for the one-year, $14 million tag? Either way, after the past few weeks, there is little doubt Walker will remain in Seattle."
Hearing that there's "little doubt" that Walker will stick with the Seahawks this offseason is some very encouraging news for Seahawks fans.
Finding running backs in the NFL, whether it's in a trade, free agency, or the draft, can be fairly easy. Teams often will let decent running backs walk to find younger, cheaper options.
But, in the case of Walker, after carrying the Seahawks to the Super Bowl 60 title, the plans seemingly involve Walker returning for, at the very least, the 2026 NFL season.

Placing the franchise tag on Walker won't be a simple decision, as the Seahawks have plenty of other free agents hitting the open market for whom the tag would be useful.
But if the Seahawks cannot agree to an extension, they can use the tag, roughly for $14 million, and keep Walker in Seattle for another year.
After an incredible playoff run, there's no reason the Seahawks should be letting Walker leave this offseason.
This update from Jones is a good sign, as it looks as if the Seahawks are fully planning on bringing Walker back. The only question is how they're going to do it.
