Here’s the thing about broadcasters: they notice everything.

San Diego State head coach Sean Lewis became the center of attention on an FS1 broadcast for sporting an “insane” tan line before the Aztecs’ Saturday matchup against Fresno State.

Lewis covered up the striking tan line with a hat during the game, but that didn’t stop the Fox Sports crew from poking fun at the coach for the viewers at home.

“There’s a look at Sean Lewis,” said FS1 play-by-play announcer Noah Reed late in the first quarter. “Looks normal, right? College football head coach.”

“Well, he’s got a hat on, because pregame, this is what he looked like,” Reed added, accompanied by a pregame look at Lewis.

“That is one of the most insane tan lines I’ve ever seen,” he said with a laugh.

Added color commentator Robert Smith: “No bald comments? I thought the bald comment was coming there for me.”

“I save those for you,” Reed quipped.

Despite their coach’s head soaking up the sunlight, the Aztecs had no trouble shining in a dominant 23-0 road win over the Bulldogs.

Running back Lucky Sutton led the attack with 132 rushing yards and a touchdown, and linebacker Tano Letuli punctuated the shutout with a fourth-quarter pick-6.

SDSU, winners of five straight, improved to 6-1 on the season and remained undefeated in Mountain West play.

After two weeks on the road, the Aztecs return to San Diego to host Wyoming on Nov. 1.
