On Saturday, a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds-themed flash mob performance delighted San Diego Comic-Con 2025 attendees and others in locations around the San Diego Convention Center. Created by JFI Productions and their performers, the choreographed dance featured scenes from the ongoing Strange New Worlds Season 3 on Paramount+.

STRANGE NEW WORLDS Surprise Immersive Performances

The “surprise immersive performances” took place in the Marriott’s lobby, in the Gaslamp Quarter and at Petco Park’s Interactive Zone in the afternoon. Then two final performances took place in front of the Paramount+ activation “The Lodge” in the evening.

The choreographed dance featured more than a dozen performers. In addition to the majority wearing Starfleet uniforms, several portrayed familiar Franchise species like Andorians and Vulcans. And there were analogues for the lead characters on the series, like Christopher Pike, Spock, Christine Chapel and La’An Noonien-Singh.

Segments of the dance were directed inspired by recent or upcoming episodes of Strange New Worlds Season 3. Specific sections paid homage to “A Space Adventure Hour,” “Wedding Bell Blues” and “Shuttle to Kenfori,” with the latter featuring a pair of impressively decayed Klingon zombies.

The performances were a huge hit, drawing crowds and encouraging interaction and applause. They also handed out cardboard cutouts of the Vulcan salute on popsicle sticks in promotion of the season.

And for the final performance of the evening, several cast and crew members from Strange New Worlds joined the crowd to enjoy the show. Ethan Peck (Spock), Jess Bush (Chapel), Christina Chong (La’An), Paul Wesley (Kirk), and Executive Producers Henry Alonso Myers and Akiva Goldsman all arrived, fresh from the Star Trek Universe Hall H panel earlier in the afternoon.
