Marvel made a host of announcements at its retailer-exclusive panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on Friday, including a crossover one-shot with DC Comics and a crossover limited series with Ridley Scott’s iconic Alien.
Debuting in September, Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 features writing by Zeb Wells with Kevin Smith; Kelly Thompson; Chip Zdarsky; Al Ewing; and Frank Miller, with art by Greg Capullo with Adam Kubert; Gurihiru; Terry Dodson; Dike Ruan; and Frank Miller. The issue will feature main cover art by Capullo with a series of variants and two backup stories: “Rocket Raccoon/Green Lantern” written by Ewing and drawn by Ruan, and “Wolverine (Old Man Logan)/Batman (The Dark Knight Returns)” written and drawn by Miller.
“The pairing of Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern felt very random when I was assigned it, but you can chart a line between any two characters that’ll take you through a kaleidoscope of connections between one universe and the other—and that’s what we’ve done,” said Ewing.
In November, Alien Vs. Captain America #1 written by Frank Tieri and drawn by Stefano Raffaele, with main cover art by Leinil Francis Yu and variant cover art by Dan Panosian, kicks off a four-issue limited series that sends Steve Rogers into space to battle xenomorphs.
In addition to these epic crossovers, Marvel also announced a new limited series debuting in November and teased announcements that will drop after SDCC, including new Street-Verse variant covers by Inhyuke Lee, cover reveals for Battleworld #3 and Venom #252, and The End 2099.
