Scottie Scheffler’s son steals show at Travelers Championship toting tiny golf bag

The 2026 PGA Tour golf schedule is back underway, as the Travelers Championship is taking place at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut this weekend.

Scottie Scheffler is likely still frustrated with how he finished the US Open last weekend. The world’s No. 1 golfer was in great shape to compete for the US Open title heading into last Sunday before shooting a +1 in the final round, which meant that he tied for fourth while Wyndham Clark won his second US Open.

One reason why Scheffler has found so much success in recent years is because he has a short memory when it comes to his rougher rounds.

This was shown by his bounce-back in the first round of the Travelers Championship, as he’s shooting up the leaderboard on Thursday.

As good as he’s performing on the course, Scottie isn’t the only Scheffler that fans are talking about right now. That’s because his oldest son, Bennett (who was born in March of 2024), warmed hearts alongside his dad on Wednesday.

Several golf social media accounts posted videos of Bennett following his dad around on the driving range, carrying around a mini golf bag that included clubs fit for a two-year-old.

At another point, Bennett took a swing with his mini driver off the driving range. While he shanked the shot, it looked like Scottie was patient in helping him correct course and putting his club back in his bag.

After that, Bennett waddled around with his golf bag in tow, following his dad around the area.

It’s always cool to see an elite athlete spending time with their child between competing, especially because Bennett seems to be following in his father’s footsteps, both literally and figuratively.
