Chase Chrisley checked himself into rehab to tackle alcohol struggles — and “a lot of trauma” — on the series finale of his family’s show.
The 29-year-old spoke on Tuesday’s “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality” about experiencing “a lot of emotions” over the decision.
“I just need to go and handle a lot of trauma that I have buried,” the “scared” reality star explained. “I just thought that I could bury it, bury it, bury it.”
In treatment, Chase hoped to “just … find [him]self.”
He was accompanied by girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat and dad Todd Chrisley, who gave sage advice before dropping off his son.
“Your life story does not have to be that I had an alcohol and substance abuse problem,” the real estate broker, 56, said. “That’s not your life’s story. That’s a part. That’s a chapter.”

Todd noted that his “life’s story is not going to be that [he] went to prison for 28 months,” referencing his time behind bars over tax evasion and bank fraud convictions — before President Trump pardoned him in May.
He and wife Julie Chrisley were both released that same month.
Todd, in a confessional on Tuesday, spoke about eldest son Kyle Chrisley’s addiction struggles being “preparation” for Chase’s troubles.
“I thought going through this with Kyle would kill me,” he recalled of the 34-year-old, adding that, this time around, he felt confident “God [would] keep a protective edge around” Chase.
“That’s what I pray for all of my children every day and every night,” Todd continued, acknowledging that he did feel “sad” about Chase’s rehab stay.
“I’m leaving [knowing] that I had to bring my son to a rehab,” he said. “I’m sad that I’m getting on a plane and he’s not with me.”
Chase’s substance abuse issues made headlines in January when he was arrested for allegedly drunkenly slapping a bar manager.
Two months later, Chase revealed his sobriety.
“Almost one month alcohol free, feeling better than I have in years,” he captioned a smiling Instagram selfie. “God is good.”
