WWE is just hours away from hosting this week's episode of SmackDown. The show will emanate live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. It will feature two first-round matches for the Last Time is Now Tournament, as Carmelo Hayes faces Bronson Reed and Penta will battle Finn Balor.
Moreover, there will be a traditional five-on-five match between The MFT and the team of Sami Zayn, Rey Fenix, Shinsuke Nakamura, and The Motor City Machine Guns. In the tag team division, #DIY will lock horns with Fraxiom. The show appears to be stacked, and to ensure it delivers on the hype, the Triple H-led creative team could pull off several heel turns.
In this listicle, we will see three WWE Superstars who could possibly turn heel on tonight's SmackDown:
#3. Damian Priest
Since losing the World Heavyweight Championship last year, Damian Priest has been struggling to regain his footing in WWE. The Archer of Infamy has been embroiled in a heated rivalry with Aleister Black for the last couple of months. However, despite multiple matches against each other, Priest has yet to score a decisive win over Black.
The former Judgment Day member's last televised pinfall victory came over four months ago. Since he has not been able to find success as a babyface, Priest could revert to the dark side on this week's SmackDown. The former World Heavyweight Champion could answer Ilja Dragunov's US Title Open Challenge. However, after being unsuccessful in winning the title, Priest could launch an attack on Ilja, turning heel.
#2. Michin
Last week on SmackDown, the WWE Women's Champion Jade Cargill faced B-Fab in a non-title match. After The Storm secured a dominant victory, she was confronted by Michin, who had an altercation with Cargill before the referee intervened.
While it appears that Michin may step up against Jade next to avenge her friend's loss, the Triple H-led creative team could pull off a massive swerve and have the erstwhile Mia Yim turn on B-Fab.
#1. Sami Zayn could shock the world on WWE SmackDown
Sami Zayn has been at odds with Solo Sikoa and The MFT lately. After announcing that he was medically cleared to compete last week, Zayn will team up with Rey Fenix, Shinsuke Nakamura, and The Motor City Machine Guns to face the villainous faction in a five-on-five match.
That said, Zayn could shock everyone by turning on his teammates and aligning with Solo Sikoa. The Underdog from the Underground shares history with Sikoa, as they were both part of The Bloodline, which could factor into the Canadian's decision. Zayn, backed by The MFT, could challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
