Sam Merrill couldn't miss.
Well, in the end, the Cleveland Cavaliers' sharpshooter proved he is still human. He missed once.
That was only after he started Wednesday night 9-for-9 from 3-point range. Absolute absurdity.
In the end, he had a stat line never before done by a Cavs player.
Sam Merrill vs WAS:
32 PTS (25 MIN)
0 TOV
11-12 FG
9-10 3P
+22

His 32 points were a career-high.
He didn't miss in the first half, and kept making, until one measly miss didn't matter much anyway.

Merrill has always been a great shooter, but this was an entirely different kind of night. He was on absolute fire.
The Cavs have so many weapons, including the newly added James Harden, who had 11 assists on Wednesday.
Merrill is just a secondary piece, but he clearly can light it up when given the chance. On this night, Merrill got the chance, and he hardly ever missed.
