Saints' Jordyn Tyson leaves practice early with worrying hamstring injury

The New Orleans Saints made it their goal this offseason to surround Tyler Shough with as talented an offense as possible. They did a great job and added Jordyn Tyson in the NFL Draft to pair with Chris Olave in the WR room.

However, unfortunately for the Saints, on August 13, ahead of their first preseason game of the summer, they got some worrying news about Tyson.

According to Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, the Saints' first-round WR left practice early with trainers due to a hamstring issue.

"Saints WR Jordyn Tyson left practice early with trainer Thursday," Triplett reports. "We've heard hamstring and hopefully minor. But ended his practice early after a strong start."

This report on Tyson was then followed up by Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, who shared, "I was told this isn't super serious but obviously less than ideal."

Between these two reports, it's clear there is some worry about Tyson's hamstring after he left practice early. While it might not be something overly concerning, it's still not a good update for the rookie WR.

It's especially concerning considering Tyson has missed time already this offseason as he's dealt with injuries since being drafted.

He came into the draft season with injury concerns, and while he was cleared before the draft and the Saints were okay with his medicals, this update is exactly what the Saints don't want to happen.

Their first preseason game is against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday, August 15, and there might be some questions about whether he suits up for this game or not.

This is an injury situation to monitor closely, as Tyson, the Saints' first-round rookie WR, might not be ready to go for Week 1 of the preseason and could miss even more time if this hamstring injury is more serious than it seems.
