The New Orleans Saints have had some legendary players come through their organization, but none might be more iconic than quarterback Drew Brees.
During the 2026 NFL Honors show, Brees was announced to have made the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It's an incredible honor, and was very much deserved for Brees.
After the news broke, former Saints head coach and current Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton shared a heartfelt message for Brees on Twitter/x after the official announcement.

Payton and Breese were together for the majority of their NFL careers. Brees came to the Saints in 2006, and Payton began coaching the Saints that same year.

In New Orleans, Brees became the Hall of Fame quarterback he is today. While he wasn't bad in San Diego at the start of his career, he didn't break out into the legend that he became until he joined Payton in New Orleans.
Brees finished his 20-year NFL career with 80,358 passing yards (68,010 with the Saints) and 571 touchdowns (491 with the Saints).
The Saints' legendary quarterback made 13 Pro Bowls, one All-Pro, a Super Bowl MVP, and countless other accolades and awards over the years.
Payton and Brees were great together, and made for one of the NFL's best quarterback and coach duos in league history.
