Saints' Chris Olave sends six-word message amid trade speculation

At 1-5, the New Orleans Saints should be shopping around players that don't factor into the team's long-term plans.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Brandin Cooks, and Cam Jordan are names to watch as the trade deadline approaches.

But players aren't always interested in a change of scenery, even if the team is circling the drain on a lost season.

Chris Olave would prefer to stay in New Orleans

When asked about ongoing trade speculation, Olave professed his love for New Orleans and his desire to stay a Saint.

"I love it here, man. I love the front office, I love my coaches, I'm excited to be here," the former Buckeye star told the media.

"I want to be here forever."

While the Saints should certainly be taking calls on most of their talented players, Olave may be someone they would be better off holding onto.

The former Ohio State star is a fantastic pass catcher. So far in 2025, he's hauled in 39 receptions for 342 yards and one touchdown.

His only red flag is injury concerns, having missed 12 of 57 possible games played through his four-year NFL career.

Despite that, Olave is a building block player, someone New Orleans can count on to help develop a young quarterback in the future.

If the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft wants to stick around, the Saints would be better off hanging onto the veteran and offloading Cooks and Shaheed for late-round draft capital.
