Alvin Kamara may change his mind.
But the New Orleans Saints' veteran running back has actually already said what he'll do if these trade rumors are true.
In October, Kamara told reporters this:
“I don’t want to go anywhere… So if Mickey (Loomis) comes down and says that, I’m going to go drink a piña colada somewhere.”
That was said before the 2025 trade deadline. Kamara didn't end up getting moved.
Now, though, the Saints have signed Travis Etienne to a hefty free agent contract. He'll have to be the top dog in the backfield, and it probably doesn't make sense for New Orleans to keep Kamara on the books.
Would there be a trade partner for him? Especially given that he has already expressed that he doesn't want to go anywhere else?

He could also be set up to get cut, which would then leave the decision totally in his hands. If he didn't want to sign somewhere new as a freshly released free agent, he wouldn't have to.
It's going to be a fascinating storyline to watch in the days and weeks ahead.

— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 9, 2026Kamara could probably still help a team as a pass-catching back, but his best days are certainly behind him.
Would his former coach Sean Payton, now with the Broncos, want him? That'll come up in rumors, for sure.
But maybe this is the end for Kamara. He's already alluded to the fact that it could be, and we'll see how accurately he was foreshadowing his own future.
