Sabrina Ionescu has her swagger back | Liberty Lately

For the first part of the 2026 season, Sabrina Ionescu just didn’t quite look like Sabrina Ionescu. Not because the confidence was gone. Not because the talent disappeared. But because the season never really gave her a chance to get into rhythm. 

A preseason ankle injury delayed the start of her season, keeping her out until May 24th. Then, just as she was trying to settle in, back soreness forced her to miss another stretch in June. So instead of building momentum, Sab spent the early part of this year trying to play catch-up. And when a player’s game is built on timing, confidence, movement and feel, that matters.

But now?! Now, it feels like the old Sabrina is back.
