Rotting corpse mysteriously discovered in white van in NYC: cops, sources

A rotting body was mysteriously discovered inside a van in Queens Sunday afternoon, cops and sources said. 

 The unidentified man – believed to be in his 40s – was found unresponsive and badly decomposed around 3:30 p.m. inside the white vehicle parked on Calloway Street near Otis Avenue in Corona, authorities said, as temperatures reportedly peaked in the high 80s. 

EMS workers officially pronounced the man dead at the scene.

No criminality was immediately suspected in the man’s death. WABC

It was not immediately clear when the man died, or for how long his body remained inside the van before the grisly discovery. 

The death does not appear to be suspicious, cops said Monday morning, but the investigation is ongoing.
