Billionaire businessman Roger Penske shared a heartfelt message as Team Penske prepares to enter a landmark year in 2026. The former racer founded the organization in 1966, and next year, it will celebrate 60 years of excellence across motorsport categories like IndyCar, NASCAR, and IMSA.
On Monday, December 15, Team Penske announced that it would introduce a fresh anniversary identity in 2026 (similar to F175 this year), which will reflect on its car liveries, racing uniforms, merchandise, and across its online presence. The team will also run special retro paint schemes to honor its past successes across its entries in IndyCar, NASCAR, and IMSA.
In the press release, owner Roger Penske expressed his gratitude for his team, which has witnessed unparalleled success in American motorsport and beyond.
"Our 60th anniversary is a tremendous milestone for our organization," the 88-year-old said. "The 2026 season will give us the opportunity to celebrate the people, partners, and fans who have helped shape Team Penske since 1966, while also looking ahead to the future. This year ahead is a meaningful one with many terrific moments for our team and story still to come."In IndyCar, Team Penske remains the most successful team in the history of the series. Though Chip Ganassi Racing matched them with its 17th IndyCar championship this year, won by Alex Palou, Penske is miles ahead with a record 20 Indy 500 wins, compared to Ganassi's six.
Penske's most recent major achievements across the three series include Josef Newgarden's 2024 Indy 500 win in NASCAR, Joey Logano's 2024 Cup Series championship win, and the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport winning the 2025 IMSA SportsCar Championship.
The major changes Roger Penske made at Team Penske in 2025

Team Penske suffered freak misfortunes, which affected all three drivers, including Josef Newgarden, Will Power, and Scott McLaughlin. There were unexpected mechanical failures, and drivers got collected in crashes for no fault of their own.
The Indy 500 scandal in May rocked the team, leading Roger Penske to make sweeping changes in the senior management. He fired Tim Cindric, Ron Ruzewski, and Kyle Moyer, and appointed Jonathan Diguid, the lead of Penske's IMSA program, as president of the entirety of Penske Racing.
On the driver front, Team Penske lost Will Power to Andretti Global after failing to make the two-time IndyCar champion feel valued enough by indefinitely delaying contract negotiations. AJ Foyt Racing's David Malukas will replace him in the No. 12 Chevy in 2026. In 2026, Newgarden will enter a contract year, and his future after next season remains undecided.
On the IMSA front, Porsche Penske Motorsport won the 2025 championship, giving Roger Penske his 48th racing title. And in NASCAR, Team Penske missed out on the 2025 Cup Series championship after three consecutive seasons of winning, with Kyle Larson taking home his second title.
