Rodtang says friendship with Nong-O will only get stronger after big fight: “I love and respect you just the same”

Muay Thai megastar and former flyweight Muay Thai king ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon is gearing up to face close friend and mentor, legendary Thai fighter Nong-O Hama this weekend. But before the two step into the Circle to lock horns, Rodtang had a message for his idol.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Rodtang spoke about his upcoming showdown with the former bantamweight Muay Thai king, and sent a message to Nong-O.

“To Nong-O, give it your all, my brother. Let’s showcase the art of Muay Thai for everyone to see so that our fight will be just as exciting as any other fights on the card. No matter what happens in the ring, no matter how the fight ends or how fierce it is, win or lose, it’s a sport, and I love and respect you just the same.”

Rodtang will battle Nong-O for the vacant ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title, a belt he previously held. The two go to war at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, Nov. 16, from Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
