Warming Bernabel is hot.
In fact, only one other player has ever started their MLB career on the kind of tear Bernabel is on for the Colorado Rockies.
The key stats here, via OptaStats, are 14-plus hits and 8-plus extra-base hits.
That's what Bernabel has done, and only Mitchell Page in 1977 has done it before.
Bernabel, 23, is currently 14-for-28 (.500).
He has four doubles, three home runs and a triple.

In his 28 at bats, he has 29 total bases.
He has also driven in eight runs and walked once.
His small sample OPS? 1.553.
The 6-foot-1 infielder out of the Dominican Republic wasn't necessarily expected to do this. He was never ranked by any service as a top-100 prospect.
He signed with the Rockies as an international free agent and made his pro debut when he was 17.
He didn't get to play in 2020 due to COVID-19, not helpful in his development.
In 2021, he made it to Single-A Fresno, then to High-A Spokane in 2022, Double-A Hartford in 2023, but not Triple-A Albuquerque until this year.

At Albuquerque, Bernabel earned his promotion. He was batting .301 with 18 doubles and eight home runs in 75 games before the Rockies brought him to the major leagues.
Now, in quick order, he's made it so he can't be taken out of the lineup.
Bernabel will surely cool down some. He's a career .277 hitter in the minor leagues with some pop, so he can likely have a long MLB career.
No one will hit .500 forever, not even a guy named Warming.
But it's hard to start a career better than this. Right now, he's on fire.
