Rockies predicted to make exciting April decision on .976 OPS prospect

The Colorado Rockies are 6-8 to begin the season, but there is a lot more to like about the team than there has been before.

TJ Rumfield has looked good, and so has Troy Johnston. There's a lot to like about the Rockies looking into the future, and things could be looking even better this April.

Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report is predicting that the Rockies will make an exciting call-up of Charlie Condon, their .967 OPS slugging top prospect, this April.

Rockies predicted to call up Charlie Condon

"With Rumfield and Johnston both producing right now, they could slot Condon into the DH role where they have used six different players through 13 games..." Reuter writes.

The Rockies have a few interesting young players, but if Condon is called up, he'd be the most intriguing slugger on the roster.

He was drafted third overall in the 2024 MBL Draft out of Georgia after winning the Golden Spikes Award. And he's looked good in the minors in his career so far.

In 2025, he posted an .820 OPS in 99 games between Rookie ball, High-A, and Double-A. He's playing even better to begin the season in 2026.

At Triple-A, one step from the Major Leagues, Condon, through nine games, has a .286 batting average with a .976 OPS thanks to three home runs and six RBIs in 35 at-bats.

Reuter is predicting that the Rockies will call up Condon this April, which would be a very fun prospect decision for Colorado to make after a surprisingly decent start to the year.
