Rockets predicted to trade Jalen Green to land superstar in this bold trade idea

6 hours ago 1

The Houston Rockets rumors around a potential Kevin Durant trade keep getting louder and louder. After being one of the best regular-season teams, they had an early playoff exit, fueling the idea that they want to make a big, win-now trade. Durant naming them as one of his preferred destinations only added fuel to the rumors.

NBA Analyst, Jake Weinback, took to Twitter to explain one of his favorite NBA mock trades to get Durant to Houston.

The Rockets' trade idea looks like this:

Rockets receive: Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns receive: Nikola Vučević, Jabari Smith Jr., Lonzo Ball, No. 10 overall pick (via HOU)

Chicago Bulls receive: Jalen Green, 2027 first-round pick (via UTA, CLE or MIN from PHX)

The biggest supposed holdup in the Durant trade talks is just exactly how much the Rockets are willing to give up to get him. Some believe Jalen Green might be off the table. Others believe the Rockets should add him to the deal to get it across the finish line.

Although Green was excellent during the regular season, he all but disappeared in the playoffs. Trading him, Jabari Smith Jr, and the 10th overall pick for Durant seems like a reasonable price.

If this mock Rockets trade were to happen, the Rockets' roster would still be stacked. They would keep key veterans like Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks while also keeping their two best young players in Alperen Şengün and Amen Thompson.

That Rockets roster would be title contenders without a question. So, if the Rockets are serious about getting back to the Western Conference Finals and potentially beyond, they should pull the trigger on this Kevin Durant trade idea.
