Rio Ferdinand gives clear Cristiano Ronaldo verdict after spectacular CR7 overhead kick

Cristiano Ronaldo gave the latest demonstration that he is simply built differently in Portugal's UEFA Nations League thrashing of Poland on Friday.

Then, in the 87th minute, Ronaldo peeled off to the back post and delved into his muscle memory to convert an overhead kick from Vitinha's cross.

It moved the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star on to 15 goals for club and country this season, including five in five in the Nations League.

Ronaldo is on to 910 career goals overall and transfers doyen Fabrizio Romano tweeted a picture of his acrobatic volley.

In the replies, CR7's former United teammate and regular cheerleader Rio Ferdinand replied with an alien and goal emoji — shorthand for saying Ronaldo's continued excellence is not human and that his is the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.).

Ferdinand is not shy when it comes to vocally praising stars universally recognised for their excellence. He also frequently lauds Ronaldo's great rival Lionel Messi and the pretender to his Madrid throne Kylian Mbappe.
