Teddi Mellencamp Says Dad John is Planning Her Burial Amid Cancer Battle
Teddi Mellencamp has a positive update amid her cancer journey.
Nearly three weeks after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum confirmed that her cancer—which started in her brain before spreading to her lungs—had reached stage 4, she joyfully shared the success of her treatments so far.
“Honestly, the crying is already done, but I just finished with all of my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk,” Teddi said in an April 23 Instagram video, “which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good.”
She continued, “I have two more sessions of immunotherapy and then hopefully I am done and I will be cancer-free.”
The 43-year-old—who said doctors have given her 50/50 odds to survive—also noted she was choosing to be optimistic about the encouraging results.
“I'm going to keep a positive outlook because that's the way my doctor just spoke to me,” Teddi continued. “He's like, ‘You did this, you got this. You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good.’“
In the caption of her post, the reality TV star—who is mom to kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 5, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave—explained that all of her tumors have “shrunk or disappeared,” though she will continue with treatment as planned.
“I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy,” Teddi wrote, “and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.”

The good news is a welcome change of pace for Teddi, who recently detailed the mental toll her cancer battle has inflicted on her since being diagnosed with multiple brain tumors in February.
"I don't think you understand the debilitating pain that I feel some days,” she told ET in an April 17 interview, choking up at the thought of leaving her children without a mom. "That is extremely frightening. My kids are young."
