Report indicates that Raiders’ Maxx Crosby trade will still happen eventually

2 hours ago 2

The situation surrounding Maxx Crosby continues to be one of the more confusing in the NFL, as the Las Vegas Raiders attempted to trade him, but failed to do so in a deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens did what they had to do, suggesting that Crosby didn't pass his physical. There's been a lot of speculation around that, but it's what happened.

Despite the Raiders now saying that Crosby remains part of their plans, there's still a lot of chatter about a potential deal happening sometime in the future.

According to Kimberley Martin on Get Up, there’s growing belief across the league that it’s not a matter of if, but when.

“It’s a matter of – the big question is when it doesn’t seem like if he’ll get traded,” Martin said. “Because even though the Raiders said ‘Maxx is a Raider,’ guess what they did – they traded Maxx Crosby.

“And they also traded him and then made a bunch of moves, spent a lot of money to upgrade the roster with certain pieces thinking that Maxx Crosby was off the books,” Martin added.

Martin's comments are important here, as everything that was touched on happened. The Raiders attempted to trade Crosby, failed to do so, went out and signed a bunch of very good free agents, and did so without thinking of having him on the books.

Just because a deal didn't happen or get finalized right now doesn't mean that it won't sometime in the next season or before then.

“We have a long offseason, it could go until the trade deadline, it could go until the draft,” Martin said. “But a lot of people expect him to not be a Raider for much longer.”
