In what’s been an up-and-down start to the season for Cincinnati Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott, he now has his biggest win of the year.
The Reds All-Star pitcher took to Instagram on Friday afternoon to share he has proposed to his girlfriend Lindsay Stone.
“Forever” Abbott captioned the post.
The post showed the two rejoicing and celebrating after they became engaged, with the Cincinnati skyline in the background, and a view of the Reds Stadium, “Great American Ballpark.”
Stone is no stranger to the people of Cincinnati as she grew up just 30 miles north of the city and has worked as a TV News Anchor at WLWT in Cincinnati for the past three years.
Her career in journalism originally began working as a sports reporter and anchor at WNDU in South Bend, Indiana where she covered Notre Dame Football.
Shortly after she career started, she was on the move to WTTV in Indianapolis. That would be her final job before her homecoming at WLWT.
On May 14, Stone announced that she would be leaving WLWT. What’s in store next in her journalism career, remains unknown.
The start of the 2026 season was a tough one for Abbott, who was the Reds Opening Day starting pitcher. The left handed pitcher had a 6.59 ERA through his first six starts.
But he’s made everyone forget about his slow start. He’s been dominant on the mound through his past five starts pitching to a 4-0 record, with a 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts.
Last season, Abbott was joined by his teammate Elly De La Cruz as the two players to represent the Reds in the All-Star game.
Abbott had a career year for the Reds throwing a high in strikeouts [149], while pitching to a 10-7 record, and a 3.97 ERA.
