The Detroit Red Wings have reportedly offered a second-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks for Tyler Myers.
Despite that, it's not clear that the Red Wings are going to end up with the lanky defenseman on their roster before Friday's NHL trade deadline.
Why? Well, it seems Myers may not want to go there.

Myers has a full no-move clause in his contract, and this is the last season he'll have that. So if he's going to be traded before Friday, it seems he wants to make the most of it.
"Myers at this point continues to think about his option(s). I’m not sure how patient the Wings are going to be waiting around," wrote Vancouver radio Irfaan Gaffar on Monday on X.
If Detroit does get the sense that Myers doesn't want to go there, it might make sense to look elsewhere.
Myers hasn't appeared to turn down the Red Wings altogether, although there's speculation that he could just be leaving that on the table as potential leverage to get a different offer to a place he would rather go.

A couple of the other popular links for Myers have included the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks, although it's not clear if those teams are still in the picture or not.
Myers doesn't have the offensive game he once did, and a team acquiring him will mostly rely on his defensive moxie to get the job done in big games down the stretch and into the postseason.
Will that be Detroit? It's seeming less and less likely the more time passes.
