Red Sox still have not received pick compensation for starting pitcher's rejected qualifying offer

The Boston Red Sox had one player reject their qualifying offer in starting pitcher Nick Pivetta, which qualified them for a compensation pick in the MLB Draft. However, according to MLB insider Jeff Passan, the Sox have yet to receive it, but it is coming.

“Pivetta was saddled with a qualifying offer, which has hindered his market, but teams still adore his stuff, and he'll find a rotation home before pitchers and catchers report.”

This past season, Pivetta pitched in 27 games, and had an ERA of 4.14, with 172 strikeouts. He also had a K/9 of 10.6 and a WHIP of 1.126.

The Sox have already replaced Pivetta, so there is no chance he returns to Boston. However, it seems like he has a good market in spite of the fact he comes with a qualifying offer attached.

Hopefully, Pivetta finds a new home soon, so the Sox can get their compensatory draft pick.
