The Boston Red Sox are going through some major issues this season, both on the field and off of it. Alex Cora has been fired, the team is struggling mightily, and they're dealing with injuries to multiple key players.
Garrett Crochet is out due to injury, but the one concerning injury that continues to linger for the Red Sox is Roman Anthony's issue.
A new report from Chris Cotillo of Masslive.com revealed that, once again, Anthony is being shut down after discomfort following work to get back into the swing of things. This situation is one that the Red Sox have completely mismanaged.
Red Sox have mismanaged Roman Anthony's injury
"Roman Anthony felt discomfort hitting off a tee yesterday and has been shut down from swinging again, at least for a few days, Chad Tracy said," Cotillo reported Friday.
This isn't the first time such a worrying update has been given on Anthony. A little over a week ago, Anthony was shut down due to his wrist injury acting up following Anthony getting in some swings.
This recovery has not gone well, as dating back a few weeks, he's struggled to not feel sore after swinging a bat. This issue is there, and Anthony, who last played on May fourth, is approaching almost a month out due to injury.
Initially, the Red Sox didn't place Anthony, who has a .229 batting average and a .675 OPS in 109 at-bats, onto the injured list following his injury. Boston didn't believe he'd miss significant time.

But now, with Anthony still not feeling well after taking some swings, it's hard not to feel a bit more worried about Anthony's health.
This injury is clearly more serious than initially let on. Anthony has missed more time than anticipated, and his recovery efforts haven't exactly gone well, as seen with this update from Cotillo.
There have been multiple setbacks with Anthony, as this wrist issue is not getting any better, even after almost a month since he initially sustained the injury.
It's clear this injury is worse than initially thought, and the Red Sox might've completely mismanaged this injury for their young superstar outfielder.
These constant attempts to get Anthony back aren't going well, and it's hard not to question how the Red Sox have managed Anthony's injury.
