As of Friday afternoon, the Mets were still set to open their series against the Red Sox Friday night at Citi Field at 7:15 p.m.

But as of 2 p.m., Boston was stuck in Chicago, after dealing with “multiple plane issues,” according to the Boston Globe.

Masslive.com reported the Red Sox plane was scheduled to land not long after 4 p.m. at LaGuardia Airport, just minutes from Citi Field.

The Red Sox finished their series against the White Sox on Thursday.

The surging Red Sox bring a six-game winning streak into the series and have won 11 of their last 13 — a stretch that began with a four-game sweep of the Yankees at Fenway Park.
