The Boston Red Sox have been struggling since trading Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. However, Craig Breslow has stated that he intends to try and improve the team rather than sell at the trade deadline.
If they do buy rather than sell, they will need a bat to replace Devers, which will be hard to find.
They could use some right-handed thump in their lineup as they try to navigate the rest of the 2025 season.
R.J. Anderson of CBS Sports listed Eugenio Suarez as a trade candidate. Boston was listed as a potential destination.
"Suárez has authored some mighty good offensive seasons throughout his career, making it all the more notable that he's on pace for a career-high OPS+. That statistic is fueled by the fact he's already recorded multiple 10-homer months, including as part of a blistering June," Anderson wrote.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have not expressed any desire to sell at the deadline, but if their slide continues and they fall further out of contention, they could move Suarez.
The 33-year-old slugger is in the final year of his contract and could bring back a haul of prospects. Boston has the prospects to make a deal such as this happen.
This season, the former All-Star is hitting .257/.325/.564 with 25 home runs, 68 RBI, 2.6 WAR and an .889 OPS. The Red Sox could potentially stick him at third base and move Alex Bregman around.
But this would give Boston a big bat that they desperately need in order to replace Devers and make a run down the stretch. The Red Sox are eight games back in the American League East and three back in the Wild Card race.
We'll see what Boston decides to do at the deadline.
