The Boston Red Sox made a stunning trade last week when the team sent slugger Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants.
With only about a month before the Major League Baseball trade deadline, the Red Sox could be parting ways with a few more players.
One player Boston might be trading this summer is outfielder Jarren Duran. Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan from ESPN think Duran would be a good fit for the Philadelphia Phillies.
"Duran had a huge breakout season in 2024, posting the seventh-best WAR in the majors at 6.7. He overperformed his underlying metrics, though -- i.e., had some lucky outcomes -- and those metrics have regressed a bit this year, McDaniel and Passan wrote. "Now he's underperforming them -- he has been unlucky -- so his true talent is somewhere south of that star-level 6.7 figure but better than the roughly 2 WAR (commensurate with a solid regular) he's on pace for this season. Best fits: San Diego, Atlanta, Cleveland, Kansas City, San Francisco, Philadelphia."
Duran made the All-Star game last season and brought home the game's Most Valuable Player Award, so he has a great deal of talent.

Duran still has three more seasons of control after this year, so if the Philadelphia Phillies do trade for him, they will be getting a player they can keep until at least 2029.
