Amidst Nebraska Volleyball's reign, Nebraska Volleyball player Rebekah Allick received a major honor. The 21-year-old player was awarded the Defensive Player of the Week under the Big Ten weekly conference awards.

Allick was awarded the honor for her performances against the Wisconsin Badgers and the Oregon Ducks, respectively. Allick recorded a hit ratio of .500%, with 1.83 blocks / set and 2.00 kills / set.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers' Instagram page congratulated Rebekah Allick for this incredible achievement, as the caption read,

"Rebekah is relentless. 😤 @rebekahallick_ picks up her second @b1gvolleyball DPOTW award on the season following standout performances!"

Rebekah Allick dropped a 2-word reaction in the comments section of the Instagram post as she wrote,

"Thank you!"

Interestingly, Rebekah Allick wasn't the only Husker honored at the Big Ten weekly conference awards. Co-skipper of the team, Bergen Reilly, was named the Setter of the Week for her incredible performances. This is the 12th time Reilly has been awarded the honor, and the third honor of the current season.

After extending their unbeaten streak to 22-0, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be competing against the Illinois Fighting Illini volleyball team on November 6 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Rebekah Allick previously reflected on the unbeaten streak of the Nebraska Volleyball team, as well as an important advice from ex coach, John Cook. The middle blocker mentioned in a press conference,

"Just keep playing. I feel like if we become fixated on the outcome, it has never ever worked in anyone's favor. So just staying in the moment is huge and a big takeaway that I have from John Cook, like just coaching me over the last few years. He almost used to come with a little bit of an attitude when we were ranked number one. He was like, 'So you think you guys can just coast this week because you're ranked number one?' Just this and that." [via HailVarsity channel]

The Nebraska Volleyball senior further added,

"Yeah, it's an accolade, but it's nothing more than an Instagram post. It doesn't decide if you want the national championship or conference title or anything. So it's something to be cool and like, 'Oh yeah, that's nice,' but it doesn't determine your win on Friday or Saturday night." (7:30 onwards)

Rebekah Allick had joined the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2022 as a freshman. The 21-year-old middle blocker was a part of the team that qualified for the finals of the 2023 NCAA Championships and the semifinals of the 2024 NCAA Championships, respectively.
