Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga sent a friendly advice to his teammate Endrick, who has joined Olympique Lyon on loan for the season in a deal worth €1 million (as per ESPN).

Endrick, 19, has struggled for game time this season - appearing once each in La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League for a cumulative 99 minutes - without making a goal contribution. All of his seven goals and one assist came in 37 games during his debut 2024-25 campaign.

The 14-times capped Brazil international - contracted to the Santiago Bernabeu till 2030 - will hope to make an impact with regular first-team football in Ligue 1. Camavinga, who has top-flight experience in French football with Rennes, has told Endrick never to wear the colours of Lyon's arch-rivals St. Etienne (courtesy Get French Football News via GOAL, as translated from Spanish):

"Brother, you should know your team's arch-rivals are Saint-Etienne, so never wear green!"

The two Le Derby rivals share a close rivalry, with Lyon leading 47-45 following 126 meetings across competitions since 1951.

Camavinga, who scored twice in 71 Ligue 1 appearances for Rennes, has been at the Bernabeu since 2021. The 23-year-old has played nearly 200 times for Madrid, contributing six goals and 11 assists and winning two La Liga-UEFA Champions League doubles and seven other titles.

When Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso urged Endrick to be 'patient'

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso urged the young Endrick to be patient for opportunities as the young Brazilian struggled to make an impression in his sophomore campaign.

Signed from Brazilian side Palmeiras in the summer of 2024, Endrick is now off to Lyon to gain valuable first-team football as he seeks a place in Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

"It's clear everyone wants to play. And a young player even more so," Alonso told TNT Sports Brasil (via GOAL) in October. "Given the context, we want to compete right now, and it's difficult depending on the match. He has to be patient, be prepared, and know that he's at Real Madrid. His time will come."

Alonso's side are second in La Liga, four points behind leaders Barcelona (46) after 18 games, as they return to league action from the winter break with a home game with Real Betis on Sunday (January 4).
