Los Blancos' decision about Mendy comes after they signed Alvaro Carreras from Benfica for a reported €50 m, a transfer that led to overcrowding in the left-back position in Xabi Alonso's squad, according to AS.

Real Madrid currently have Carreras, Mendy, and Fran Garcia in the left-back role. The 30-year-old's growing age and his frequent injuries make him more likely to be eliminated from the Spanish squad.
Mendy was sidelined on four different occasions in the 2024/25 season, missing a total of 23 matches for the La Liga giants.

Los Blancos are reportedly ready to part ways with Mendy for a fee close to €14m.
While Mendy is yet to be linked to a club currently interested in acquiring his signature ahead of the upcoming campaign, reports have suggested that Real Madrid will be open to offers from teams across all leagues if they match Los Blancos' expectations over the deal.
