Razorbacks Scoops Up Promising Div II Quarterback to Expand Depth Chart

The Arkansas Razorbacks have been focusing on the 2026 season ever since October 2025. The team suffered one of their most brutal records in recent memory, finishing 2-10 with a ten game loss streak.

Despite a horrendous season, things seem to be looking up as they move into 2026. New head coach Ryan Silverfield adds stability as he brings his offensive, defensive and special teams coordinator with him. In addition, the new coaching staff brought in fresh energy and a heap of strong recruits to the program.

One of these recruits is former Division II Angelo State QB Braeden Fuller. Much like former Arkansas QB Taylen Green, Fuller’s upside lies in his traits, coming in at 6’3, 230 pounds.

The new QB also brings a much needed winning pedigree to the program. Fuller was a runner-up for the Division II Heisman, the Harlon Hill trophy, in 2024. During this breakout season he had a 19-2 TD to Int ratio and threw for over 2300 yards.

Having already garnered interest from the FBS in 2024, Fuller continued with a strong showing in 2025, throwing for 15 touchdowns and 4 interceptions before injuries cut his season short. Despite the injury concern, Fuller ranked 148th among transfer portal quarterbacks and was eventually picked up by the Razorbacks.

Although the promise of a strong talent can be alluring, there is no certainty that he will see the field in 2026. The current QB room is seemingly a two-horse race. KJ Jackson was expected to be called up as the starter following Green’s departure after the 2025 season, but AJ Hill being brought over from Memphis by Silverfield complicates matters.

With the two quarterbacks competing for the starting role, Fuller’s role as third man on the depth chart seems all but decided. This is largely an ideal spot for the promising QB, as he gets to sit behind two experienced Division I players and learn, while offering himself up as a backup should an opportunity arise.

Chambliss taught the SEC that the gap between Division II and I may not be as wide as perceived and chances are that once Fuller gets a chance at taking the reins, he might not have to surrender them again.
