The Rays picked up another win on Saturday as they clubbed the Detroit Tigers 8–3. It was the second straight victory for the Rays over the Tigers. Tampa Bay is now 43–34 on the season.

In the game, rookie Junior Caminero hit his 18th home run of the 2025 season, placing him fourth in the American League in home runs. Ahead of him are Cal Raleigh, Aaron Judge, and Taylor Ward.

The solo home run in the fourth inning was also the 49th run batted in for the 21-year-old rookie. That total is just outside the top five among league leaders. Taylor Ward of the Angels is fifth, also with 49.

It's been a breakout rookie season for Caminero. He played seven games at the end of the 2023 season and hit a home run during that time. Last season, he had 177 plate appearances and recorded six home runs and nine doubles. In 298 plate appearances this season, he already has 18 home runs.

Caminero signed with Cleveland in 2019 but was traded to the Rays in November 2021. He made his MLB debut on September 22, 2023.

One of his best games this season came on May 29, when he hit a home run and drove in six runs. Two days later, he launched two home runs and collected five RBIs. He was voted American League Player of the Week on June 2.

Caminero and the Rays will finish their series against the Tigers on Sunday before taking Monday off. They will then begin a three-game series in Kansas City before heading to Baltimore for the weekend.
