Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely will undergo surgery this week to repair a small fracture in his foot, an injury he sustained during Tuesday's practice. According to team sources and NFL insider Dianna Russini, Likely's recovery timetable is about six weeks, with optimism he could return by the start of the regular season in early September.
Russini added that Likely is having surgery immediately to stabilize the fracture. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler also reported that the injury is minor and that Week 1 availability is possible if recovery goes well.
On Tuesday, The Baltimore Banner's Jonas Shaffer shared that Likely went down on the last rep of 1-on-1s. Later, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that Likely rolled his ankle and will be sidelined for "a few weeks."
Likely, who improved last season with a career-high 477 receiving yards and six touchdowns, was expected to take on a larger offensive role in 2025.
His absence means veteran Mark Andrews will maintain the primary tight end role early in the season, with Charlie Kolar and others stepping up during Likely's recovery.
The Ravens open their season on Sept. 7 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football.
