When the Baltimore Ravens let go of longtime head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons together at the end of last season, it was a shocking development. The NFL is filled with unexpected moments, so when something is truly shocking, that means something.
So, was Harbaugh the problem? After the team's familiar fallout in its Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns, one has to wonder. Now, one NFL expert is noticing that the Ravens are still dealing with a problem they've had for years, and it's lingering long after Harbaugh is gone.
The Baltimore Ravens are still blowing leads under new leadership, and it's becoming a familiar problem
In a piece about the NFL's Week 6 games, Nick Shook of the NFL's official website says that Ravens fans, unfortunately, are used to watching their team blow leads. That happened when Harbaugh was in charge, and it's still happening now.
"Backed by their equally stingy defense, the Ravens had a chance to put away the game in the fourth when a handoff to Derrick Henry led to a disastrous (and unfortunately familiar) result: a fumble forced by Carson Schwesinger and recovered by the Browns," he notes of this matchup. "That giveaway gave the Browns a short field and eventually, a game-tying touchdown."
He adds, and this is the part that stings for Baltimore fans, "The sequence was far too common for Ravens fans, who have watched their team blow leads regularly over the last five years. Sunday's was the second of 2026."
Now, the Ravens are coming out of their Week 6 game with another loss. Their next matchup is Sunday, Oct. 25, at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
