Ravens' Jesse Minter a huge Trey Hendrickson fan as DE stars at OTAs

1 hour ago 3

Through no fault of his own, but Baltimore Ravens edge Trey Hendrickson will likely be linked to Maxx Crosby after the failed trade for the Las Vegas Raiders star saw Baltimore pivot to him.

But as OTAs began for the Ravens, Trey is already making waves as he reportedly had two "would-be" sacks on Lamar Jackson.

Hitting the ground running for your new team is exactly what the doctor ordered, and Trey has done that early doors at OTAs.

Yes, I get it, it doesn't really mean anything, but try telling that to Ravens head coach Jesse Minter.

"He's an extremely well-defined technical rusher," Minter said via NFL.com. "So, he uses his hands really, really well. He can bend really well. He's really good at seeing the snap count and being able to do that. He knows how to attack different tackles based on how they set, things like that.

"But man, [it's] just how he plays. He brings it every play. I think he's done a great job learning some different techniques that maybe he hasn't done before and playing the run and doing things like that. So, I am just very excited, and very, very, very pleased with Trey up to this point, and I am excited to have him on our side."

Ravens tasked with 2026 bounce back

After a horror 2025 season, the Ravens, under Minter, need a serious bounce-back, and Hendrickson could be key to the franchise doing so on defense.

Yes, Lamar and the offense were horrible at times last year, too, so they will need to pull their weight, but Hendrickson under the eye of Minter is a tantalizing thought.

The Ravens struggled at times defensively in a way we haven't seen for years, so to get their groove back under Minter will help this team get back to where they feel they belong -- the playoffs.

Hendrickson has started his life as a Raven well, but we know OTAs count for nothing; it will be what he does in the regular season that people will take notice of.

But still, showing out at OTAs is better than the alternative.
