Ravens-Chiefs blockbuster trade prediction sends Baltimore's breakout star to Kansas City

It would be truly stunning to see the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs pull off a blockbuster trade with one another, and that's especially true if the trade saw Baltimore sending Kansas City one of its breakout stars.

The Chiefs are, of course, the biggest threat to the Ravens' hopes of winning the AFC in 2025, and it wasn't long ago that Kansas City proved that by knocking the Ravens out of the playoffs in 2023.

As a result, the Ravens shouldn't be doing anything to help the Chiefs get better.

However, Last Word on Sports' Anthony Palacios is throwing that logic aside and he is predicting the two sides will link up for a trade that sends Ravens 2024 breakout star Odafe Oweh to the Chiefs.

"After signing his new extension this offseason, linebacker Nick Bolton is still the best in this pass-rushing unit," he wrote. "Even though they had George Karlaftis, Chris Jones and Charles Omenihu in the defensive unit, they still traded for Josh Uche to bring some relief. This means the Chiefs could target another linebacker if Drue Tranquill and Leo Chenal can’t pick up the slack. Oweh won’t single-handedly carry this department, but bring some new life to Kansas City."

A former first-round pick, Oweh had a career-best campaign in 2024, with the Penn State product tallying 10 sacks, which was the second-most on the team.

The Ravens did draft Mike Green out of Marshall in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, but he'd hardly a sure thing to be able to replace Oweh in Year 1, and Baltimore shouldn't be subtracting edge rushers in a loaded conference, anyway, especially not to the Chiefs.

Ravens fans would understandably revolt in the wake of such a deal, as not only would the trade improve Kansas City's roster, it could make Lamar Jackson's job harder.

But if general manager Eric DeCosta was dumb enough to make such a trade, the Chiefs would almost certainly be interested.
