After an impressive season, one in which we can all confidently say was the first year we were expecting something from this core, the Toronto Raptors enter the offseason with some questions to answer at multiple positions. Many have suggested that the Raptors could be interested in adding a guard who can score, as well as a center.
There are going to be some players available on both the free agency and trade markets to pursue, with Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner recently being floated as an option.
“It’s not yet clear whether the Bucks will turn around and deal away Myles Turner as the dust settles on the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. But the roster is crowded, and the Bucks would much rather give center minutes to Ousmane Dieng and Kel’El Ware than to Turner.
“The Raptors have interest in Turner, though the Bucks would be loathe to take back Jakob Poeltl’s contract,” Sean Deveney of Heavy reported.
I don't mind the idea of going after Turner if I were the Raptors, though I think it's also important to recognize that he had a really bad season in Milwaukee last year.
He also made some comments toward the end of the season that suggested he's a bit outspoken, perhaps more than he needs to be. With a young Toronto team that doesn't want to add any troubles, I wouldn't be surprised to see them decide to go in a different direction.
