A convicted rapist was in custody Friday for savagely beating unconscious a mom on Randall’s island — having called 911 to report the beating himself, according to police sources.
The suspect was out on parole for rape and was wearing his ankle monitor during the vicious attack, police sources said.
He had been living at a shelter on Randall’s island when he allegedly bludgeoned the 44-year-old mom, now identified as Diana Agudelo, as she was walking along the bikepath at 600 E. 125th Street around 11:30 pm Friday, cops and sources said.

The suspect reported the beating to 911 and fled the scene, sources said.
Agudelo suffered facial fractures — including a cracked skull and a broken nose — in what NYPD Chief Joseph Kenny called it “one of the worst beatings I’ve ever seen.”
The mother was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital unresponsive in critical condition.
The suspect was convicted of rape and sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2013 in The Bronx, according to jail records.
