Ranking every Chargers schedule release video from Halo to Anime

59 minutes ago 3

The Chargers are never shy when it comes to a creative schedule release.

In 2022, they created an anime-style reveal for each of their games. Each of the past three releases has been themed around a different video game, including "Halo" and "Minecraft."

These rankings will be based on the creativity and originality of the videos, as well as the humor achieved in each year's release. There was also a special schedule reveal in 2020 done by first responders that will not be ranked due to its stark contrast in goals and style compared with the other humor-focused reveals

Here's the ranking for each of the Chargers' six most recent schedule reveals.

6. Joey Bosa reveals Chargers' schedule over Zoom with his slideshow (2021)

This video was a clever play on Zoom life during the pandemic, with Joey Bosa asking the age old questions of "can you guys mute yourselves?" and "can everybody see my screen?"

It was a fun video with appropriate jabs at other teams' cities. That being said, the production value takes a huge step up with each subsequent video. Nothing against Joey Bosa, but the Chargers outdid themselves in the following five years.

5. Minecraft (2025)

This was another unique take on a schedule release from the Chargers' team, transporting players, coaches and more into the world of Minecraft. This used a variety of methods to show which team would be up next, including snow-capped mountains for the Minnesota Vikings and a Flint & Steelers mine for Pittsburgh.

This video also took its chance to poke fun at other franchises, including Will Levis memes for the Titans and tush push references for the Eagles

4. Anime Reveal Sequel (2023)

A reveal so nice, they did it twice. In 2023, the Chargers doubled down on the original anime schedule release, this time with a few more jokes at the other teams' expense.

This included references to then-Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel vaping and a "rebuild-a-bear" workshop for a struggling Chicago team.

3. Halo (2026)

The Chargers once again returned to the video game-themed release video this year, through the video game, HALO. They also used this formatting to craft some jokes at other teams' expense, through friend requests and direct messages.

The social team also took a few slights in this video, notably a friend request from "gethigher77" during the Texans matchup. This is a nod to the account that some have speculated is a burner for the Rockets' Kevin Durant.

Another slight was taken at Patriots' head coach Mike Vrabel during the Week 12 matchup reveal. A message in the bottom right corner read "NY Post sent you a message," a nod to the publication who posted the initial Vrabel-Russini photos.

2. The Sims (2024)

This marked the first video game-themed schedule release for the Chargers, and it paved the way for their later creations. In this release, they used The Sims, with custom characters for some of their opponents.

1. The Original Anime Reveal (2022)

This was the highest production quality of any reveal for the Chargers at the time. They revealed their 2022 schedule through an anime style introduction, complete with traditional music and references to both anime and team drama.

Some of these references included the One Piece pirate flag for the Raiders and a section in Week 6 against the Browns that read "redacted on advice of our lawyers," a reference to Deshaun Watson's sexual misconduct charges.
