Rams urged to add 36 INT superstar CB before playoffs

The Los Angeles Rams have been playing stellar football over the last several weeks. After a 1-4 start, they've climbed back to take control of the NFC West and could clinch a playoff berth this weekend.

One area the Rams need to address lies in the secondary, specifically at cornerback. They signed Darious Williams and Tre'Davious White in the offseason, hoping that veteran experience could lead their secondary. White was traded to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the deadline and Williams hasn't been stellar. Since shipping White away, Los Angeles has had to rely on Cobie Durant, who's shown flashes.

If the Rams want to make a deep playoff run, they should look to bring in an available cornerback off the street. That's why Bleacher Report suggested that they add a veteran corner before the postseason, listing Patrick Peterson as one of the options.

The Rams' cornerbacks have been subpar just about all season as it's arguably the team's biggest weakness heading into the playoffs. So, the front office should consider adding a veteran ahead of the postseason as a potential contributor, similar to what it did with Eric Weddle during the 2021 Super Bowl run.

Peterson is on the older side at 34 and clearly isn't the same player he was during his time with the Arizona Cardinals. However, despite his age, he's proven to be durable and could provide solid depth down the road for Los Angeles. In 200 career starts across three different teams, Peterson logged 36 interceptions, 122 passes defended and 652 tackles while being named to eight Pro Bowls and three First Team All-Pro lists.
