The Los Angeles Rams lost their star receiver, Puka Nacua, to an injury in Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Nacua leapt in the air for a would-be touchdown early in the game on Sunday and came down injured on the incompletion.
The Rams' star tried to walk off the field, but eventually stayed down and was attended to by the medical staff. Nacua has now been listed at day-to-day by coach Sean McVay with an ankle injury, and is doubtful to play this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Rams stars share feelings on Nacua injury
Injuries are part of the game, but they're never something you want to see.
"Whether it’s Kam Curl, or whether it’s WR Puka Nacua, you never want to see that. Injuries are one of the worst parts about it. He tried to give it a go," McVay said (h/t SI.com). "Even Blake Corum came back and ended up making some good runs in the second half. I thought that was awesome. Puka [Nacua] tried to be able to give it a go. It just didn’t feel good enough.
"I just don’t know enough about what’s going on and how he is going to feel, and how he is going to respond. He maybe could have pressed through, but we were kind of being more smart than anything. I don’t like it anytime a player gets injured, no matter who it is."

“Foot” injury.
Toes slam right into the turf.
Concern for bone bruise>fracture>ligament injury.
Depends on severity of trauma obviously. Impact could still cause midfoot sprain but hopefully not.
No longer concerned on HA or Fibula, thankfully. https://t.co/PU5GFflaFt pic.twitter.com/hpE8P7vqhl
The Rams were in a tight contest with the Ravens at the time of Nacua's injury, but with the injuries Baltimore is dealing with, it was a game the Rams were expected to win handily.
Nacua has been the Rams' best receiver in 2025, and has been one of the best in the NFL. The Rams receiver leads the league in receptions (54) and is second behind Seattle Seahawks Jaxon Smith-Njigba in receiving yards (616).
"I just hope [Puka Nacua] is okay. I have no idea, to be honest with you, with what’s going on, but I know he’s as tough as they come," Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said (h/t SI.com). "He was able to get out there for some snaps later on. He’s obviously a big part of our team, a big part of our offense, but I thought the other guys stepped up and did a nice job."

— SM Highlights (@SMHighlights1) October 12, 2025In Nacua's absence, the Rams will lean on veteran Davante Adams to step up as the No. 1 target, and others to fill in roles behind him. However, Adams isn't worried about Nacua missing much time.
"Yes, I mean, you worry about him to a certain extent, but it’s still Puka [Nacua] at the end of the day. You know how tough he is, and it’s likely that he will be able to come out of this," Adams said (h/t SI.com). "Obviously, he wasn’t feeling amazing, but I’m sure with a little bit of time going into this week he can heal up and get back out there."
The Rams face the Jaguars in Week 7 before a bye in Week 8. Nacua is unlikely to play this weekend, but would then have two weeks to heal up before them Rams next game.
