Rams' Sean McVay confirms Aaron Donald rumor for Week 2 matchup

The Los Angeles Rams lost their Week 1 matchup to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, and also lost Myles Garrett to injured reserve a few days later.

Now, with their Week 2 Monday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants on tap, the Rams might be getting Aaron Donald back, as he indicated his plans to return in this Week 2 matchup.

The next day, according to Nate Atkins of The Athletic, Sean McVay confirmed the rumors and revealed that Donald is set to return after years of retirement on Monday Night Football in Week 2 this season.

"Sean McVay confirmed that Aaron Donald will make his return against the Giants on Monday Night Football," Atkins reports.

This is a very exciting report for the Rams, and it helps to diminish some of the concerns mounting for Puka Nacua, who missed practice for the second straight day on Saturday.

Donald revealed his plan to play on Monday, and McVay backed his returning defensive tackle up by saying, "If he said it, he's going. Whatever Aaron says, I support."

The future Hall of Famer, when he suits up on Monday, will officially reset his clock for the Hall of Fame and begin a pursuit of a second Super Bowl title with the Rams.

The 10-time Pro Bowler, eight-time All-Pro, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and future inner-circle Hall of Famer will begin his 11th season as he pursues another title, more accolades, and a legendary return after two full seasons away from the NFL.

While Week 2 isn't exactly a must-win for the Rams, it's a very important game to avoid going 0-2. Garrett might not be playing, but the Rams are getting one superstar defensive lineman back, as Donald has been confirmed by McVay to be back this week.
