Rams legend Cooper Kupp receives unfortunate Hall of Fame prediction from ESPN

The Los Angeles Rams have plenty of incredible players on their team right now who seem like locks to make the Hall of Fame, or at least have a very good chance of doing so.

Matthew Stafford and Myles Garrett seem to be locks, while Davante Adams has a great chance of making it as well. But a former Rams legend, Cooper Kupp, now on the Seattle Seahawks, is an interesting Hall of Fame case.

Unfortunately, ESPN's Bill Barnwell is predicting that Kupp will miss out on the Hall of Fame, thanks in large part to his peak not lasting very long.

Rams legend Cooper Kupp predicted to miss out on Hall of Fame

"Missing out: WR Cooper Kupp," Barnwell writes. "Kupp's peak in 2021 through the first half of the 2022 season was truly spectacular, but there's a significant gap between those 18 months and what he has done over the rest of his career."

Kupp has only made one Pro Bowl, one first-team All-Pro, and is a two-time Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP.  He also won Offensive Player of the Year in 2021, and has recorded 8,369 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns in his NFL career.

There's no denying that Kupp has been a great wide receiver. But, unfortunately, his peak didn't last long enough to warrant an inclusion in the Hall of Fame.

He's 33 years old right now, and it would take a mid-30's resurgence, with multiple Pro Bowl nods and more accolades and counting stats, for Kupp to have a good chance of making the Hall of Fame.

For as good as Kupp is, there are plenty of other deserving wide receivers who would likely get into the Hall of Fame before he would, not to mention all of the other players that need to get in.

He's had just two seasons over 1,000 yards in his career, albeit one was one of the best receiving seasons ever at 1,947 yards with 16 touchdowns and 145 receptions.

Barnwell is predicting Kupp is "missing out" on the Hall of Fame, and while it's not what Rams fans might want to hear, it is unfortunately the reality that Kupp is facing right now, barring a late-career miraculous turnaround.
