The Los Angeles Rams made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason when they signed future Hall of Fame wide receiver Davante Adams. They may have let go of Cooper Kupp, but Adams is far more productive at this stage in his career than Kupp. Their offense is better than it was a few months ago when their season ended, and it will be even better should they succeed in winning the Super Bowl after what Adams recently revealed.
The star wide receiver revealed that his agent was in contact with the San Francisco 49ers, but the language they used drove him away.
“I was entertaining the Niners,” Adams said via The Athletic. "But they were like, ‘We’re paying wholesale. We ain’t paying retail.’ I didn’t talk to them, but that’s what my agent told me like five times, that quote. And I was like, ‘O.K., well, I’m not a wholesale-type dude.’”
The 49ers traded away Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders and are reportedly open to trading Brandon Aiyuk less than a year after giving him an extension that pays him $30 million per year. Should Adams and the Rams find success, this will be a stain on the 49ers, and make things even sweeter for Los Angeles knowing they stole Adams from San Francisco.
